Care Giving Exchange Network

The Care Giving Family Support Network is a community bulletin board. Any person may post information which may be useful on the subject of care giving. This may include a book suggestion, community supports, functions, helpful insights as to how to cope with caring for an elder, or in locating a support person who may share the concerns care givers have in common. Post your e-mail address on the bulletin board so that readers of the network can write you directly.

Fortunately, this transition will be eased by my presence, also increasing transportation public service, but it sure is trying. I trusted dad not to drive, but he drove to the bank while I was away for the morning. He had forgotten his license was taken when he failed the competency test. He has his old driver's license expired in 1999 and thought it good. I need to remove the license plates again. Anybody else been here? Nobody hurt, thank goodness. I cannot but see the changes and face up to them. I'm a slow learner I guess. Also I don't want to start treating them like children. This is a little confusing.

said... My brother is 58. He has a traumatic head injury which he suffered at the age of 20. He has very little short term memory and no physical challenges. He is very pleasant and loves people. He works at a sheltered workshop in Brockton, which he loves. I am looking for a compassionate and caring adult or living community who would be able to care for my brother when my husband and I are away. Our traveling would consist of some long weekends and occassional week to two week trips. I would appreciate any information about resources that I could access to explore happy and productive respite care for my brother.

thank you Scotti Finnegan
